Mistreated at work?

You deserve to know your rights — and have someone fight for them.

Advocates for employee rights.

When something goes wrong at work, it doesn't stay at work. It follows you home. It affects your finances, your confidence, and your sense of what's fair.

You may not know if what happened was illegal. You may have been told to stay quiet, sign something quickly, or that it's just not worth fighting. You might wondering whether anyone will believe you.

We’ve heard all that before. And I can tell you: it's worth finding out where you stand.

The first conversation is free, and it's confidential. There's no obligation. You don't need to have it all figured out before you contact us.

Workplace Investigations

Discrimination

Oregon, Washington, and federal law prohibit employers from making decisions about hiring, firing, pay, promotion, or the terms of employment based on who you are. Race, sex, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, religion, pregnancy, whistleblowing, use of protected leave of any kind. These characteristics cannot lawfully be the basis for treating you differently at work.

Your employment agreement sets the terms for everything that follows : your salary, your equity, your severance, and your ability to work elsewhere if things don't go as planned. Before you sign, or before you walk away, make sure you know what rights you have, what you should watch out for, and what you're entitled to. Strong representation can make all the difference.

A non-compete can follow you out the door and limit where you work, who you work for, and how you earn a living. Not all of them are enforceable, and even the ones that are have legal limits. We know what Oregon and Washington law requires to make a non-compete stick, and we know how to challenge the ones that don't meet that bar. If a non-compete is standing between you and your next job, let's look at it.

Unpaid overtime, off-the-clock work, withheld final wages. Wage theft takes many forms, and it costs workers billions every year. Oregon and Washington law requires employers to pay what they owe, plus penalties and attorney fees.

When a complaint is made at work, it has to be taken seriously. We conduct neutral, thorough, and independent workplace investigations for governments, universities, and companies from a position of expertise and deep knowledge of employment-related risk.

Sexual Harassment

No one should have to endure a hostile or abusive workplace. Whether you've faced sexual harassment or conduct targeting your race, religion, disability, or other protected characteristic, we can help you understand your rights and hold your employer accountable.

Retaliation

You reported harassment, misconduct or potentially illegal conduct, and things got worse. Now your boss is freezing you out and maybe even marking down your performance. Retaliation is one of the most common employment law violations, and it's illegal. If your employer punished you for speaking up, we want to hear about it.
